Carefree is a quaint town located in Maricopa County and bordering Scottsdale and Cave Creek. With a population of nearly 4,000 people, the town spreads 8.9 square miles. Most people are drawn to the area due to the abundance of cultural shows, its natural desert beauty, as well as the historic 35-foot-tall sundial that is in the middle of town. The residents of this beautiful town definitely live up to the ‘carefree’ attitude by dining in the award-winning restaurants, exploring the trails that wind through Black Mountain, and playing at any one of the 20 golf courses that surround the area. While remaining within 30 minutes of the larger cities of Phoenix and Scottsdale, Carefree is far enough away to be a little bit cooler in the summer and even get some snow in the winter! This is truly a charming town that manages to be elegant and yet have a ‘Wild West’ feel all at the same time!
